If you are talking about a magnifying glass, the convex glass bends and concentrates the light waves and heat energy associated with those waves. Where the energy is concentrated becomes very hot. Flat or concave glass does not affect the waves.
If you are talking about the inside of the car getting hot, that is because the light energy can pass through the glass and get absorbed by the material in the car, the darker the material, the more energy is absorbed. The energy absorbed from the light is them converted onto radiant heat which cannot pass through the glass and becomes trapped which allows the heat to build.
When that happens it uses up all the oxygen and replaces it with co2 (carbon dioxide) and water and that what makes the sucking affect :)
Heat generally tends to flow from higher temperature to lower temperatures. In this case, the cup of milk is hotter than the bowl of tab water. Hence the temperature of water increases, and the temperature of milk decreases. This process continues till both the temperatures are equal.
Any container - metal, glass, plastic - will do. Bear in mind that a metal container will cool down; for this reason, glass and plastic are better.
Yes water can evaporate in a covered bowl and it can even evaporate in a covered bowl in the shade overnight.
It depends on the shape of the fork and the material from which it is made. Most non-metal (wood, plastic) forks will float. Metal forks will sink unless they are shaped to have a large enough surface area on the bottom.
fish in tanks are magnified by the glass and the water.......... in my round fish bowl my guppies look huge
To make water dry up you take a glass of water outside on a really hot day. Then place the glass down on the sunniest spot. To make the evaporation faster use some magnifying glasses and pieces of glass to put direct sunlight on the glass of water. TIPS: to make this easier use a wide bowl and pour the water in their. keep on checking the water different points of the day and moving it in the sunlight... If the day and material are right you will be amazed how fast water can evaporated....
A flask :)
the maiden of the wooden bowl
If u put the bowl in a warm environment it will eventually heat up
Definitely! it will, and most times the glass bowl even breaks. This happens because water increases in volume as it changes from liquid to solid (ice) and since the material used in holding the water during the freezing or solidification process is glass, like we all know, glass is an inelastic material, so there is no even expansion between the water and glass to accomodate the ice formation, therefore the glass bowl sides are set under pressure from the internal force exerted by the ice on its wall. When the pressure from the ice exceeds the hold of the glass bowl, it finally cracks or breaks aparts.

To effectively use a glass bowl for a double boiler, place the glass bowl over a pot of simmering water. Make sure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl. This gentle heat will help melt ingredients like chocolate or butter without burning them. Stir occasionally for even melting.
To effectively melt chocolate using a double boiler with a glass bowl, first fill the bottom pot with water and bring it to a simmer. Place the glass bowl on top, making sure it doesn't touch the water. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir occasionally until melted. Be careful not to get any water in the chocolate, as it can cause it to seize.
First get a glass bowl filled with water and blue paper. Place the blue paper above the water. If you need to, tape the blue paper to the bottom of a table. Place the glass bowl of water under the table or beneath blue paper. This is all you need to do. EXPLANATION The blue paper is the sky. The bowl of water is the ocean. The sky is blue. The ocean acts like mirror. It reflects things. That is why you see your reflection in a pool of water. The bowl has to be glass be cause if the bowl is colored, the water will reflect the color.

They are gold fish and the glass on the floor is their fish bowl. The water is from the broken fish bowl. This is one of my favorite riddles I do in my classes so this is the correct answer.
