1 I'm not sure that this is true-- at least without some qualifications. If an object's shape is changed in such a way that it will enclose one or more pockets of air, some other substance, or even vacuum, the object's over-all density may change. If no pockets are formed, then the density probably is not changed

2 Density is the ratio of mass to volume.

Ahem! The density of water does change with depth; or even at a given depth, if the temperature changes, the density changes as the liquid expands.

For a solid, the density will not change much, but very hot metal will be less dense than if it were cool.

The density does change with altitude, pressure, temperature, etc. Are you thinking of mass? If nothing is taken or given, the mass stays the same at every altitude, pressure, and temperature.

Because density is defined as (mass of the object) divided by (volume of the object).

You don't see anything in that formula that refers to the object's shape.

Changing the shape usually has no effect on the mass or volume, and as long as

you don't change either of those, the density doesn't change.

Density is an attribute of a material, not of a shape.

It has no effect. Only mass and volume have an effect on density.

Heat or cool the object and this will cause a density change.

No

How do you change density?

To change density there are three ways. You can change the shape, mass or volume of the object

Can an object's density change?

Yes.

How can you change the overall density of an object?

In a simple way, since density = mass /volume, the density of an object can be changed by changing either mass or volume of an object .

Will the density of gold ever change?

No density of a object (mostly solids) never change not even when gold is in a ring or a necklace. Because in my science book it states "Density is a physical property of a substance. Density is the same for a substance no matter how much it is measured"

How do you change the density of any object?

Change the temperature.

If you change the mass of a moving object you change its?

density

Does the shape of an object change its density?

Changing the shape CAN change the density. If you change it into a smaller shape, then you increase the density. However the mass will not change.

Does density of an object change with altitude?

I am assuming that you mean mass of an object. The answer is no, it does not change. Mass (Density) stays the same wherever the object is, only its weight will change if the force of gravity is different.

What is Density how is Calculated How does density change?

density is how dense an object is (see dense) it is calculated by dividing the mass by volume of an object. density can be changed by changing the size or shape or the object

What could you do to an object to change its density?

Adding heat to the object if the object is a solid.
