Cell division is necessary because:

  • it is how unicellular organisms reproduce large numbers of offspring; without it, they would become extinct in a short period of time
  • it is needed for multicellular organisms to develop, grow, and repair; without it, they will remain single-celled and will not grow

cytokinesis is important because it divides the cytoplasm of the cell. It divides the cell into two identical cells. Without cytokinesis you would only have one cell with two nuclei and two sets of DNA.

The cell should divide after DNA duplication is complete. This division is called cytokinesis. If this doesn't occur, the result will be a clumping of the cell and it can form types of cancer.

The division of the cytoplasm of a cell?

Is called cytokinesis.

How does cytokinesis play an important role in the cell cycle?

Cytokinesis takes place after meiosis I and II or mitosis where cell division takes place and divides the cell into two daughter cells.

What is the process of which cell's cytoplasm is divided?

Cytokinesis

What are the parts of cell division?

mitosis and cytokinesis

The division of a cell's cytoplasm is?

Cytokenisis

What happens to the cell in cell division?

Mitosis followed by cytokinesis.

Cytokinesis occurs right after?

Cytokinesis is cell division and occurs right after mitosis, it is important in cell division in plants and animals.

What is cytokinesis and when does it occur?

Cytokinesis is the process of cell division that divides the cytoplasm of a parental cell into two daughter cells. It starts during the nuclear division phase, anaphase, and continues through telophase.

What is the purpose of cytokinesis?

Cytokinesis is a part of cell division where the cell regenerates necessary organs like mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum before beginning another bout of cell division. The last part of cytokinesis also involves the splitting of DNA.

What is another word for the division of the cytoplasm in a cell?

cytokinesis

Cytokinesis terminates during which phase of mitosis?

Cytokinesis terminates during telophase. Cytokinesis is the formation of a cell plate in the cytoplasm. It is what causes cell division in plants.

Does cytokinesis happen during interphase?

No, cytokinesis is the last step of cytokinesis. The steps of cell division are interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis.
