Why is oil sometimes referred to as liquid shine?

Oil is so valuable around the world because oil heats your houses, fuels your cars, heats your stove and so many other things. Without oil, it would be hard to survive because Americans can't do anything without electricity.

In Saudi Arabia oil and petroleum are found in large amount. Saudi Arabia is the world largest oil and petroleum exporter. It exports 90% it . People living there extract oil and petroleum from the ground and sell it. By this they become rich and open large factories. Oil and petroleum are very cheap there. People there have become rich and open mall, hotels,etc. Thus oil and petroleum are called liquid gold and black gold.

Oil. As in what you pump from the ground. Well, that also could be black gold. Human breast milk is also being called liquid gold these days. So it has multiple meanings.

Water is NOT usually called "the new oil". If somebody called it that, pressumably he is thinking that in some aspects, water is able to replace oil.
