A political map shows boundaries like countries, states, and cities, as well as human-made features like roads and capitals. A physical map depicts natural geographical features such as mountains, rivers, and landforms. Political maps focus on governmental boundaries, while physical maps highlight the Earth's physical terrain.

Exactly what the words say. A physical map shows the physical features of an area; mountains, lakes, rivers, Coastlines, and so on. Often the positions of large towns and roads are also shown as reference points and because these are, after all, physical features albeit artificial ones. Physical maps are usually colored according to height or vegetation. The political map shows state, county and national boundaries; lines on the map which rarely actually exist on the ground. Colours on a political map represent jurisdictions, reflecting politicl rather than physical characteristics of the area mapped.

What is the difference between a physical boundary and a political boundary?

the difference between a political and a physical boundary is that a physical map shows geographical features like mountains and rivers while a political map shows boundaries. One is made by people(politicians), the other by nature. So , occasionally, a political boundary will be a straiight line but there are no straight lines in nature. A river is a common and convenient, physical boundary with two obvious sides. Sometimes, a river may run between two countries and thus becomes an example of a physical boundary serving as a political boundary.A mountain range may serve a similar purpose.
