There is no 'helping' 'poverished' countries. 'Poverished' countries are the wealthy countries. What you're looking for is how to help impoverished countries, poor countries. There are many ways to help impoverished countries, such as donating to charities that provide assistance for impoverished countries, or going on a mission trip with a church to help them. There are many other ways which were not specified, and I hope someone with a tad more knowledge than I can improve this article with more information.

Why shouldn't the rich countries help the poor countries?

Rich countries should not help poor countries because the poor countries will start depending on other countries and not themselves, therefore making their country even weaker. Also, lots of money that is sent by gouvernment gets lost and spent on things that don't even help the cause. So if you really want to know my opinion helping poorer countries is a real waste of time.
