As a person who lives somewhere where we are constantly under the threat of floods and coast erosion, I would say that you actually don't constantly think about it, so I suspect it is the same for others who live in typhoon/hurricane areas too. Yes you worry about it, and pressure the government but at the end of the day, it is your home.
