Europe
Europe, Africa, and Asia have been known since the beginning of man-kind. Humans crossed the land bridge from Asia to North America during the Ice Age at least 100,000 years ago. From here they then spread throughout the Americas, finding South America as well. Humans also crossed land bridges into Australia during the Ice Age, or possibly earlier by ships. However, these continents were cut off from the majority of the world (Africa, Europe, and Asia) and vice versa; they had not known of each others existence. North America was founded by Scandinavians about 1,000 years ago. However, this was unknown to the rest of the world. The founding of the Americas is credited to Christopher Columbus, who founded the continents in 1492. Australia was founded by Williem Janszoon in 1606. Antarctica was founded by three men from Russia, the UK, and US in 1820.
Beringia was the land bridge that formed during the Ice Age connecting Asia and North America.
