Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands, which were the only parts of British soil to be occupied by the Germans in WWII. They built many bunkers, observation towers and tunnels (if you get a chance to visit, do go to the 'German Military Underground Hospital').

St Saviour's Tunnel is a tunnel network underneath the parish Church of St Saviour's. It was used as a munitions store because the Germans thought that the English would not bomb a church. Unfortunately, I believe that it is not open to the public.
