The Scotland-England border has been drawn and redrawn many times. At the moment it runs from the Solway Firth in the west to a point just north of Berwick upon Tweed in the east, but does not run due east-west. The rivers Tweed and Sark form part of it, and some of it runs through the Cheviot hills.

The border between England and Scotland is marked by the River Tweed in the east, and by man-made boundary markers called the English-Scottish border crossings in the west. Historically, the border has been a source of conflict and rivalry between the two countries.
