Geomatics is a discipline that integrates geography with information technology to collect, analyze, and present spatial data. It encompasses a wide range of technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS (Global Positioning System), remote sensing, and cartography. Geoformatics is a term sometimes used interchangeably with geomatics.
