Chief Yellowhead was an Ojibwa Chief born as Musquakie. He was appointed as principal chief of Deer Tribe by his father (Chief Yellowhead). Chief Yellowhead (the son) was the Chippewa spokesman for the November 1815 Treaty [Lake Simcoe Land] along with William Claus. Chief Yellowhead accepted the formal agreement for 250000 acres between Lake Simcoe and Pentanguishene in exchange for 4000 pounds currency in goods.
