The Isles of Scilly are a temperate climate taking on the relative temperature of the sea that surrounds it.

This means that winter temps rarely get below freezing if at freezing at all.

And in the summer is normally limited to around 25 degrees celsius.

That said it feels much warmer than that on a sunny summers day and with added wind chill can feel colder than freezing in the winter.

However frost is highly unusual and snow very rare.

Scilly is always warmer than the mainland in the winter and this is where Scilly gains is "Sub-Tropical" status.
