Kashmir is a region located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, mostly in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in India. Parts of the region are also controlled by Pakistan and China.
Endemic conflict refers to ongoing, persistent conflicts within a particular region or group that have become ingrained as a normal or expected part of the social or political landscape. These conflicts can be longstanding, recurring, and difficult to resolve due to deep-rooted causes and complex dynamics.
During the mid-1990s, relations between India and Pakistan became tense over the northern territory of Kashmir. Both countries have conflicting claims over the region, leading to sporadic border clashes and military standoffs. The situation has persisted as a long-standing issue in the region.
