There are three SAS forces on the planet (Note SAS is different from Special Forces). The British, Australian and New Zealand SAS's. The British SAS is thought to be widely the best special forces in the world, although the Australian SAS has beaten the British on numerous training exercises. And the NZ's is not that incredible, just a small country's ordinary special forces unit.
Blair "Paddy" Mayne Lt Col, officer commanding 1 SAS.
To be in the SAS... you are a exceptional soldier who goes on to do further training and sees if you have 'got what it takes'. SAS is mainly about self- reliance so i'd imagine you'd need to be a cook, engineer, hunter, survivalist ect as well as your combat training, marksman, gunner, motor man, tactician ect
The only weakness about the SAS is it's size. The SAS are the best soldiers in the world, without question, but there is a point were numbers beats skill. If the SAS was the size of say, the USMC, then the UK would rule the world.
