Depends on the laws in your particular region. Most likely a citation will be issued and with it a heavy penalty fine.
Possibly ... more likely some stiff fines, though, and/or community service time.
i bet it is different from state to state but no you cant go to jail for expired tags you can get a ticket. but if your tags are expired and you put a year sticker that dose not belong you can go to jail for fraud.
The mere fact that the license is expired does not constitute a crime. If you are fishing (an act) with an expired license, there is potential for a jail sentence, depending on where this occurs.
If you don't go to jail then you need to buy a bike.
I guess you go to jail in Ohio
You can get go to prison! Not Jail but, Prison! You can get charged with Identity Theft, Selling without a license, Etc. Don't Do it!

Anywhere in the US, if you get caught driving with a suspended or expired driver's license, you will either receive a citation, have your car towed, or go to jail. It is based entirely on the officer's decision. Happy to help!
