The simple answer is no unless you're under 18. My son was born in the UK and currently holds Dual Citizenship. At 18 he has to choose to stay a US citizen and give up his UK citizenship; or give up his US citizenship and pay back-taxes for 18 years.

If we chose to do that we could send him back to the UK prior to his 18th birthday and pay the taxes. Doing so would give him free NHS and College and University (as the British call it) if his grades were good. Unfortunately for me the taxes would roughly equate to college here...although he'd have the NHS which is far superior to our "health plans".
