Yes the co-buyers name does appear on the title, but not on the vehicle registration.
IF your name is on the TITLE as buyer or cobuyer, you have the right to POSSESSION. Do you know where the car is? Do you have a key?
No the co-signer's name should not appear on the title.
Yes
They should be. The title is the bill of ownership and the registered owner should appear on the registration under the same name.
to get a plate on a car does the title have to be in my name?
Well, it depends how the title was written. if it says buyer "or" cobuyer you dont need the other persons signature for anything .... if its written with "and" between your two names, u will have to have both people present to complete any removals or transfers. That or you can have the cobuyer sell u the car. They will still need to be present though.
Names on title appear as either (and) (or) if the title is and then both signatures are required. if it is or then only one signature is required to modify ownership of title.
The car title proves ownership. You cannot sell a or register a car without a title.
Well if the car's title is in a company name and you own the company you can.
Not unless your name is on the title. Possession of the title does not mean you own the vehicle.
The title must be signed over to you before you can get a new title in your name.
you add a person name to the title of a car by changing your licence plate to their name
