How did china became the most populated country?

The population grew because of how many factories are located in China and factories need people to operate them and it doesn't make sense to have the job you work at daily in China and live in the US.

• It was traditional for the Chinese to have large families as they thought that the more children meant more blessings.

• The Chinese culture believes that senior citizens should be taken care of by their grown children when they grow old which included parents, grandparents and older relatives who did not have anyone else. This meant they often played it safe by having many kids, in case a few couldn't make it because of illness, fatal accidents or just didn't turn out to be capable of looking after them. This believe actually were held by most Asians, not just Chinese, in the past.

• There were also a lot farmers which meant that they needed children, in some cases a lot of children, to help make money. All these values and tradition often combined meant that the population grew rapidly and had reached 1 billion by the 1980s.

However, due to the 'one child policy' India is due to become the most populated country in the world by 2040.
