Three ways to fix a sentence fragment are:
-Add a subject; the person/thing that is doing the given action in the sentence:
Sleeps all day. - He sleeps all day.
-Add a verb; be sure the sentence is telling the reader what is being done.
Carla and Charles very muddy. - Carla and Charles arevery muddy.
-Add the fragment to a complete sentence. An independent clause (a simple sentence) contains a subject and a predicate and makes sense by itself.

A fragment in language arts (grammar/ILA) is basically a part of a sentence (a couple of words) that can't stand alone. It's similar to a clause. Here are a couple examples: 1) The cat ate 2) My mom 3) When I grow up I hope this really helped! :)
1. Make sure your sentence has a subject-- Who or What is doing something. The ball rolled away. The man drove his car.2. Make sure your sentence has an active verb or a helping verb --We walked to the store. We were walking to the store.3. Include the object of the sentence -- What happened to the Who or What?We skated down the street. The ball rolled into the neighbor's yard.Make sure to read your sentences out loud. Listen for fragments, such as:When we went (where?)While I was there (I did or saw what?)That they had been (Who? and What?)

A sentence is a complete clause with a subject and a finite verb. A sentence fragment is not a complete clause, but is part of a clause (often lacking the verb to make a full sentence). For instance, a sentence fragment could be: The house that I used to live in. Swimming in the river. I cannot find. (missing the object, the 'what') When he came home. The business around the corner. The cigarette in my hand. As he kissed. How did? Many questions. When she saw the spider. NOTE: NONE of those should have periods because they are NOT complete sentences. MOST need a comma, and the rest of the sentence. A couple only need the rest of the 'complete thought', such as: The cigarette in my hand was burning. How did she know where I lived? Many questions are difficult to answer.
1. I went to the store and the cafe and the workshop. 2. I had pizza and ranch and pepperoni. 3. I swam and drove and canoed.
