Suprastructure refers to the complex of social institutions, cultural practices, and ideologies that emerge from and are shaped by the underlying economic base of a society, particularly in Marxist theory. It encompasses aspects such as politics, law, education, religion, and art, which reflect and reinforce the economic conditions and class relations. Essentially, while the economic base forms the foundation of society, the suprastructure consists of the ideas and institutions that arise from and interact with that foundation.
