Abraham Maslow created the Hierarchy of Needs. He claimed that some needs take priority above other needs. He had the needs set into a pyramid. On the bottom, there was physiological needs which are mainly food and sleep. Then above that is safety which basically is structure, order, law, and freedom of any fears. Next is love and belonging which is affection and connection with other human beings. After that is esteem which is a stable, firmly based impression upon yourself or observant. Next is aesthetic which means you see the beauty in things and that you look on the positive side of things. Finally at the top is self actualization which means that you have reached your fullest potential and that you are not self centered.
Maslow developed the hierarchy of needs.

The base of Maslow's hierarchy of needs is physiological needs, which include basic requirements for survival such as food, water, shelter, and rest. These needs form the foundation of the hierarchy and must be satisfied before an individual can progress to higher levels of needs.

Maslow's hierarchy is a theory created by Abraham Maslow to explain people's motivations. He believed that there was a hierarchy of needs such that if the lower, more basic needs were not met, humans would not be motivated to meet the higher needs.
