Unless a product is clearly marked Halal, it is probably not Halal. Like Kosher, any company that goes through the trouble of getting Halal certification will put it on the label. Will a packaged food be Halal naturally, or by accident? No, the chance for that is very, very slim. In the strictest interpretation of the Halal food code, if the food has been handled by any non-Muslim at any point (harvesters, packaging people, delivery drivers, grocery manager, stockboy, etc) between the farmer and you, the food is no longer considered Halal. As you can imagine, finding pure Halal products can be challenging for the orthodox Muslim.

Is pizza A-Gogo halal?

If in doubt, ask the staff if the cheese is suitable for vegetarians or vegans.Traditionally, calf rennet is used to make cheese, but recently vegetarian and vegan cheeses made of non-animal rennet are also sold. Industrially produced cheese, ie the one used by pizza shops, is more likely to be made of vegetable rennet because it's cheaper than the animal rennet. Also, to cut cost pizza shops do not use mozzarella cheese, but some sort of simulated substitute cheese or cheese analogue. The cheese analogue is very likely made of soy.In effect, the cheese in most pizza shops should be halal or suitable for vegans.
