Norco Pickles, located on Bolton Road in Pendlebury, was a well-known local brand that faced challenges over the years. The business eventually closed, with its premises and operations ceasing. The closure was part of broader changes in the food industry and local businesses adapting to market demands. The legacy of Norco Pickles remains in the memories of local residents who enjoyed their products.
To the best of my knowledge ,the company was bought out and the factory was closed. The brand is still in existence and Stuart Lucas, the ex MD and son of the previous MD Lawrence Lucas, lives in Prestbury. My Father Roy Swailes was the Works Manager for more than 40 years and I still wear his 40 year watch with great pride.
They were bought out by Hazlewoods(Part of the Premier Foods group at the time I think) and production was moved to Middleton in Manchester! For a short while afterwards you could still get Norco pickles but eventually they were absorbed into the bigger group and production ceased!
As of my last update, Norco Pickles, a brand known for its distinctive pickling style, may not be widely available in all regions. Availability can vary by location and store, so it's best to check local grocery stores or online retailers. Additionally, you may find alternatives or similar products if Norco Pickles are not available. Always check for the latest information regarding specific brands and their distribution.
