Buddie died a few years ago. He was my gradfathers brother.Clide Markum,He was active in raising horses, the fort worth historical soc. and a very fine man.I can remember him giving me the change in his pocket and laugh an say dont spend it all in one place when i was small. He still has family in fort worth There was a nice write up on the front page Of the star telegram at the library. Marty

I don't know that I can improve on this answer. I just was a small child when I knew Buddy. He and my mother had gone to school together on the north side of Fort Worth. In the late 1940's I remember going with my mother to shop in his grocery. One Sunday we ran into Buddy at the Chicken Shack on Camp Bowie. Our family went there after church on Sundays.

I was adopted as an infant and located my natural mother in 1979. That is when I discovered my natural mother also knew Buddy and her father, my grandfather, had worked for Buddy as a butcher in the same grocery store where we shopped! As far as I can determine, this grandfather worked for Buddy before I was born. It is a small, small world. Both of my mothers thought highly of Buddy.
