A friend of mine from college used to be in management at a JC Penny's. She told me that the reason why is that JC Penny didn't see the reason why there was such a coin as a dime.
His reasoning was:
If 5 pennies make a nickle, and
5 nickles make a quarter, and
4 quarters make a dollar...
Then what purpose does a coin have that's only a multiple of two of the next smallest piece of currency, i.e. 2 nickles make a dime?
I know that when I worked in retail, even before I learned this tidbit, I would go to great lengths to keep from opening up a roll of dimes in my register. They were a pain in the backside to count. Once the unrolled dimes in my till were used up, I would give two nickles instead of one dime.
"Both, Macy and JCPenney carry dermablend concealer. However, JCPenney does not longer have a dull cosmetic department; therefore, Macy has a wider variety."
All dimes dated 1945 and earlier carry a picture of Miss Liberty. However, no dimes were minted in 1922.

Mercury dimes were minted from 1916 to 1945. All dimes since then carry a portrait of Franklin Roosevelt.
Too much to carry in your pocket comfortably. Exchange the 18 quarters and 15 of the dimes for six dollar bills. $6.30
JCPenney, Sears and Boscovs.
Victoria's Secret does not carry the Belly Bra. You can purchase them directly from the manufacturer and places like Target, JCPenney and Amazon.com also carry them.
In circulated condition, about $1.00 for its silver content. Note that 1947 dimes do not carry a P mint mark. That mark first appeared on dimes in 1980.
It would be impossibly rare because the last Mercury head dimes were dated 1945. All dimes made since 1946 carry a picture of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
JCPenney does not typically carry Apple Bottom jeans, as the brand is primarily associated with hip-hop fashion and is less commonly found in mainstream department stores. However, inventory can vary by location and season, so it's worth checking JCPenney's website or contacting your local store for the most accurate information.
All dimes minted up to 1945 carry a portrait of Miss Liberty.
No, JCPenney does not own Nordstrom.
