How did the Egyptians used hieroglyphs to communicate

Mainly, Ancient Egyptians communicated through writing; hieroglyphics and heratic. Since most people couldn’t learn the 2 languages; after all, hieroglyphs did have over 700 characters, so select people, called scribes, were taught the languages of Ancient Egypt to write them down for other people.

Explain what hieroglyphics were and who used them.

The Ancient Egyptians used picture words to write called hieroglyphics. It is a very old form of writing that they starting using as early as 3000 B.C. Hieroglyphics was a very complicated way of writing involving 1000s of symbols. Some of the symbols represented sounds, like our letters, and other's represented entire words.

An early form of paper made from reed is called 

papyrus
