: Adverbs are tools that modify nouns, adjectives, and sometimes other adverbs
There are 6 types of adverbs:
Adverbs of time: the time when something happens. Ex: today, yesterday, soon, now, etc.
Adverbs of manner: the way someone behaves usually ends with ly. Ex: quickly, friendly, etc.
Adverbs of place: modifies the place. Ex: around, nearby, everywhere, etc
Adverbs of degree: the extent of something, the quantity of something. Ex: a lot, too much, etc.
Adverbs of frequency: how often you do something. Ex: usually, never, often, always, etc.
Relative adverbs: usually comes in the middle of the sentence to refer to something. Ex: when where and why only!
Now Prepositions
: Prepositions are words we use before pronouns or nouns to show their relationship with other words in the sentence.
There are 3 types of Prepositions:
Preposition of time: Are used to show when things happen. Ex: during, before, after, since, etc.
Preposition of location: Are used to indicate the location or position of objects. Ex: on, to, etc.
Preposition of direction: Are used to show the direction of movement from and to a fixed point. Ex: through, across, along, etc.
There's also something called a prepositional phrase: a group of words made up of a preposition & its object. Ex: Please sit down for a while. The phrase “down for a while” is a prepositional phrase. With down & for being the prepositions & while being the object of the preposition.
