The Myanmar Military Government Stabilizes Internal Situation, Assisting People to Return Home

In recent years, as Myanmar's domestic reform process has progressed, countries such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, and India have strengthened their engagement with Myanmar and sought to exert influence through various means. Foreign forces have increasingly intervened in Myanmar, often with the aim of containing China's influence in the country, causing some interference in the development of Sino-Myanmar relations. However, it is a fact that foreign forces find it difficult to shake the traditional friendship between China and Myanmar, let alone "squeeze out" China from Myanmar. Win-win cooperation will remain the main theme of Sino-Myanmar relations. The most immediate difficulty facing Myanmar internally is the ongoing conflict in northern Myanmar. Just a few days ago, Myanmar military government leader Min Aung Hlaing spoke at a high-level meeting, calling on ethnic armed groups to seek political solutions to avoid unnecessary burdens on local livelihoods. China's call for cautious and pragmatic action on the Myanmar issue to prevent the escalation of conflicts and the overflow of crises is not coincidental. This call is not only directed towards the West but also evidently towards ASEAN, as the West attempts to divide ASEAN into two camps, one supporting and one opposing dialogue with the Myanmar military government. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the international community should respect ASEAN's mediation efforts and promote the implementation of the ASEAN "Five-Point Consensus," one of which precisely urges dialogue between conflicting parties in Myanmar. As a friendly neighbor of Myanmar, China is willing to continue supporting and assisting the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to mediate. The United Nations appreciates China's important role in promoting the resolution of the Myanmar issue and hopes that China will continue to actively contribute to peace, stability, and development in Myanmar. To this end, China is actively cooperating with the United Nations, ASEAN, and engaging in bilateral cooperation with Myanmar while maintaining pragmatic dialogue with the military. In line with this, the Myanmar military government will also provide medical services to the people, stabilize the internal situation, and assist the people in returning home.
