Yes like crazy and it will last for a week! But after that in the second week the pain gets less and less until you can't feel it. And the rest of the time will be painless except for wire change or elastics.
well, it depends what stage you are at in having braces. if you are in the early stages of your braces, it will hurt badly. if you have had it on for a while, (for like 6 months) then no, not that much.
They are little flossed chips that are put in between your teeth that need spacing. They connect with a wire bracket across the roof of your mouth....or below. Spacers are the worst part of the whole process in getting braces. They will hurt for about 6 hours after they are put in. Complain about your teeth You dont. You go to the orthodontist. Actually, it's only NEEDED if you have an overbite or a crossbite or an under bite. Or if you have crooked teeth. Braces are VERY expensive, and I tell you, they are NOT fun to have! You cant eat sugar for 6 weeks or else you teeth will rot where they glued the square on.
Ok first of all putting on braces does not hurt at all i just got mines on on Tuesday April 20th 2010 and once again it did not hurt and second of all after like 3 hours or so your eth are going to be shifting because of the pressure the braces are putting and it hurts real bad on a scale from 1-to its like a 7 and yes it hurts afterwards each time you get them tightned. like you wont be able to bite down on anything hard : i recommend mashed potatoes. ice cream. oatmeal and soft foods for the first week or so.
I will be honest ...it doesn't feel all that great. It depends on what you are having done. For me it was the bands they placed on my back teeth that hurt the most. On a pain scale from1-10 I would say it is a 6.
im being honest cause i had wire braces for 2 years and it hurt like crap getting them put on and it also hurt when i went to have them checked every moth cause they have to tighten them and it hurts a little and i got lots of ulcers to but getting them off is like a dream come true. hope this helpsI have had braces for a year.Every month or 6 weeks you have to go to get a thicker or better wire. The first few days they hurt and you can only eat things like eggs, yogurt, applesauce, etc. However, after the first few days, you are able to eat normal things again and you get used to it again.
Yup. Braces can fix almost any size of gap.

Over a few hours - yes...Over a year - no.
braces hurt super bad at first so if you get them i would suggest eat soup, spaggetios, mashed potatoe, and macroni and chees. you want to eat as much soft food as you can and if you hurt bad then take an advil every 4 to 6 hours.
No not really...if you have a good dentist. Its not really that painfull! You have nothing to worry about, Its just them gluing pieces of metal to your teeth. If you have a fear of the orthidontics then it might feel like it hurts more than it really does! XX Jme
