Liver and kidneys.
The most likely kidney donors are immediate family.
Liver and kidney
Kidney transplants are most often carried out (which indicates that they are needed frequently). However persuading donors to donate their liver is particularly difficult, due to popular misconceptions about the person who may receive their liver (i.e alcoholics or drug users). Thus livers are 'needed' more often than kidneys are, since there's fewer livers to go around.
Solid organ transplants, such as heart, lung, and kidney transplants, are most likely to be rejected by the recipient due to differences in human leukocyte antigens (HLA) between donor and recipient. Skin grafts are also commonly rejected as they are highly immunogenic.
Kidney transplants, followed by liver transplants, are most common.
Kidneys, since the risk is relatively low as the original kidneys are not removed; a new one is just added in. Thus if the new one does not work there's no real harm done - you can try again.
Corneas can be removed and replaced during an operation
== == == == At least 21 different organs -- such as hearts, livers, and kidneys -- been transplanted. I believe in 1954, the first kidney transplant was performed successfully. As for the two most common, that I think would be the kidney again and the cornea in the eye. === ===
most health insurance plans do cover transplants...but not all.
Reduced-size liver transplants are most often performed on children.
