Smooth muscles aren't attached to bones at all, actually. Smooth muscles make up all your internal organs, like your stomach, lungs, liver and digestive system. The smooth muscle is involuntary, which means you can't control it and don't need to think about it in order for it to work, like when swallowing or digesting food. The muscle that is attached to bone by tendons are the skeletal muscles and they flex or extend all your bones.
