No foods actually harm the respiratory system, BUT some foods can aggravate other problems that then affect the respiratory system. For example, high acidic foods can cause "acid reflux". Acid reflux can come up the esophagus and irritate the throat and airway.
An healthy respiratory system can be achived by avoiding smoking,which is very essential,you should also avoid exposure to dangerous gases like automobile exhaust,ammonia which have effect on respiratory tract.You should also consult your doctor before taking drugs which may affect you.
