Are there lymph glands in back of head?

i have a child of 13 mnths.today i felt two swollen part at the back of her head in between ears.they r a little soft yet swollen,which could be felt only when touched.by looking i could'nt make it out

pls reply and help.i am very scared

Lymph nodes swell because they are attempting to filter and purify your lymphatic system. They attempt to "clean" and remove any type of infection you may be fighting. They also swell in some instances of cancer. And there are no Lymph nodes in the "back" of your head. There are groin, armpit, chest, trunk and next to the veins and arteries in the side of your neck.

Correction By makikid:

There are cervical (back of neck) lymph nodes that can run up on your skull but they are not directly on the back of your head, but there are some on the back of your head ^_^. I know I just went to the doctor about it. More then likely there was a chemical introduced that caused your lymph nodes to react and swell when they were draining the fluid.
