Which organ contains the most alveoli in the human body?

The lungs contain the most alveoli in the human body. Alveoli are tiny air sacs in the lungs where gas exchange occurs, allowing oxygen to enter the bloodstream and carbon dioxide to be removed. The large surface area of alveoli is essential for efficient gas exchange during respiration.

What are the smallest and most distal structures that remain a component of the conducting zone in the respiratory tract?

The smallest and most distal structures that remain a part of the conducting zone in the respiratory tract are the terminal bronchioles. These bronchioles are the final branches of the conducting airways before reaching the respiratory zone where gas exchange occurs in the alveoli.

What is the combining form meaning bronchus?

It means that it has to do with your bronchi, which are the two airways that split off from your windpipe and go to your lungs. It can also mean it has to do with your bronchioles, which are the airways that split away from the bronchi like a web, cover, and actually attach to the lungs. They are the tubes that actually fill the lungs with air. Though in most every context it will mean both collectively. Whichever one it means, it has to do with the tubes that deliver air to your lungs. For example: Bronchitis is the inflammation of those pathways.

What effects your lungs?

Asthma is the result of an allergic reaction, which affects the lungs by inflaming the linings of the bronchioles, making it harder to breathe and creating the 'wheezing' sound. With asthma there are 3 elements to it. 1) inflammation 2)mucus plugging 3)bronchospasm When you get an asthma attack you have to be exposed to an irritant which causes inflammation in the bronchioles. Because of this inflammation your body produces extra mucus which creates mucus plugging and then you get bronchospasm which decreases the size of the bronchioles which creates the wheezing sound when an asthmatic exhales. With this decrease in bronchioles the body is unable to exhale air in the lungs which becomes trapped. After a while the pressure can build up to a point where you can't breathe anymore and you could have a collapsed lung which could become tense and with that pressure on the heart, could go in to cardiac arrest.
