Removal of the foreskin can lead to decreased sensitivity and decreased sexual pleasure later in life. Circumcision is becoming increasingly uncommon. In the United States in 2007, less than 40% of male infants were circumcised. Above all it is now being discovered that the trauma associated with this horribly painful practice can have serious effects on a child's brain and mental state.
