It might. It depends on how you got it. I have a bruise under my toenail from my friend who stepped on my foot with her high heels on. If this comes out of the blue, and it won't stop hurting, then you might have it. It's very rare. If you got this from something that hurt your toenail like I did, then It probably is not skin cancer.
A black line under the toenail can be a sign of melanoma, a type of skin cancer. It is important to have it evaluated by a healthcare professional to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
The pain from a bruise under the toenail typically resolves within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the severity of the injury. Initially, the area may be tender and sensitive, but as the bruise heals and the blood reabsorbs, discomfort usually diminishes. If pain persists beyond a few weeks or worsens, consulting a healthcare professional is advisable.
