Just being cold or feeling chilled will not lead to catching the common cold. After all, temperatures that are 'cold' are nothing but the absence of heat and not an actual energy. What gives us colds are viruses, of over 200 types. The most common viruses causing colds in humans are Rhinoviruses and Coronaviruses. So really, it can be 100F degrees out and you can catch a cold.
