Can a pregnancy test be negative on week an the next week be positive?

Well if one came back positive there is a chance you could be pregnant and if the other came negative it could have been a false negative. My advice is go see your doctor and get a blood test done to rule one of the answers out.

If you read the instructions on your pregnancy test you would see that it should be used on the first urine of the day when the hormones are most concentratedand you would therefore get a positive test. Later in the day after a couple of cups of coffee the urine is less concentrated so the test shows negative. Don't waste money on a blood test, you are pregnant.

If the earlier tests were the negative ones, then it could be because they were too early to detect the hCG. A subsequent test would then show the level as the level rises quite rapidly.

If the first test was the positive one and the later tests negative then it could indicate a miscarriage, although the hCG stays in the body for some time after the baby has died. A blood test, however, would show a drop in the levels.

yes it could just be that your hormone levels were low when you took the last test. But to have 4 positive and one negative! Your pregnant!

hi you might actually be pregnant but if you tested to early you could have detected a chemical pregnancy and that means the egg and sperm fertilized but it did not implant that is why they say to wait tell you have missed your pd. but good luck I'm praying for you

You may of performed the home pregnancy test too early. It's best to perform a pregnancy test 2-3 weeks after unprotected intercourse as this will give the hCG a chance to reach a sufficent enough level in your urine to give you a accurate result. If you should get a negative result after this time frame, and you still suspect pregnancy please see your Doctor.

Alternatively you can see your Doctor for a Quantitative beta hCG pregnancy blood test. This test is 100% accurate but you will need to ask your Doctor specifically for this test.

You are most likely pregnant. Chances are the tests taken the first day were used just before you had enough hCG to confirm pregnancy, one day later the hCG had increased enough to give you your positive pregnancy tests. This is why false negative pregnancy tests are very common if used too soon. False positive tests are very rare.

Pretty sure it can because I read that the first time you take a pregnancy test and have it be negative the first time is because your still in early stages and home test aren't 100%
