Can a six year old get acne?

technically..yes my 2 year old nephew has had it a tiny bit. When i was 8 or 9 i remember having all these really little bumbs on my forehead but they went away. This could be a sign that he/she could experience acne problems when they grow up so if they do try to do something about it early. Baby Acneby: Jackie G. Some babies when born, may have small red bumps on their face. This is not baby acne, but something called "milia", which usually disappears in a couple of weeks. In teenagers and even adults, acne is blamed on hormones and excessively oily skin. Because the baby acne appears on areas of the face where they may have spit up, rubbed against sheets washed in harsh detergent, or drooled, it can become slightly aggravated, but that extra irritation will go away by changing your laundry soap, and wiping their face with a damp cloth when needed.

My daughter started getting pimples at the age of 8. By the age of 11 she had nasty red pimples all over her forehead and on her nose and chin. After quite a bit of research we eliminated milk from her diet. The improvement was immediate. We have found that she also gets pimples from soy milk. She is vegetarian, but I did read that some people have problems with meat and in particular beef - though we wouldn't know. It is the hormones in these foods that causes the problems.

Now aged 14, she has lovely clear skin.

She does eat a little bit of yoghurt and cheese - small quantities only. And she eats chocolate ( again not a lot). It seems to be quite specifically milk and soy milk that cause the problems.

Note that everyone is different. Some people don't get pimples no matter what they eat and some will be fine with milk but not other foods. But from my research, milk seems to be major culprit for most acne sufferers
