You have to have free time at school. It's called a lunch period.
it is a curse. Less material is covered and if you don't have a course in sequential trimesters, you have to spend more time reviewing. It is very impersonal and an assembly line approach to education I prefer the trimester system. It allows students to be exposed to more classes. Less material may be covered, but it is not that big of a difference--material is just covered faster. In my school, you don't have to spend any extra time reviewing for exams because they are taken at the end of each trimester. The trimester system isn't any more impersonal than the semester system. That depends on the faculty and the general attitude of the school.
A " period in history" means that the time time is prolonged. I t is a long time. I know this because I learned it at school
In American English, the term "period" is commonly used to refer to the punctuation mark (.) that signifies the end of a sentence. Additionally, "period" can also denote a specific length of time, such as a school period or a historical period. In casual conversation, some might use "dot" when referring to the punctuation in an email address or web URL.
