No. To get a reliable result on a home pregnancy test you should wait 14-16 days after you think you ovulated to test.
You should buy a urine test to determine pregnancy or wait for a missed period.
You can typically confirm pregnancy with a urine test as early as 7-10 days after conception, which is about one week after a missed period. It is recommended to take the test first thing in the morning when the hormone levels are most concentrated in the urine.
4 days after a missed period, a serum hCG will be accurate - 7 to 14 days after a missed period the urine hCG will be accurate.
An early pregnancy test or 'e.p.t.' as it's often referred to, can be used as soon as you miss your period and any day thereafter. If you prefer to test early, an e.p.t.can be used as soon as four days before you expect your period to start. If you test early and get a "not pregnant" result, there is still a chance that you may be pregnant. However, some pregnant women may not have detectable amounts of pregnancy hormone in their urine on the first day of the missed period or may have miscalculated the first day of their period. If you are testing before you expect your period to start, it is recommended that you test with your first urine of the day. Otherwise you can test at any time of the day. Avoid excess fluid intake before testing.
According to most pregnancy tests, a second faint line does indeed mean that you are pregnant. The second line only shows up if the pregnancy hormone is in your urine. So if it is there at all, then you are pregnant. If you take the test early, like before your missed period, this may be why the line is faint. Wait until after your missed period and repeat the test to be completely sure of the accuracy.
I will do the urine pregnancy test. If it is negative, reassurance and observation is the therapy.
If you have never been pregnant before, the pill is 99% effective if taken as directed. This would prevent you from becoming pregnant. Otherwise, you need to wait a number of days beyond your missed period (or a very light period). The packaging on the pregnancy test will tell you the exact amount of time you must wait. The test will test your urine and it is most accurate if you collect the first morning elimination of urine.
When I was pregnant I had a period the first month and it was different from all other periods I had previously had, It wasn't as heavy and didn't last as long. However my urine test was positive but I have heard of other friends who had negative results and were in fact pregnant. So I would suggest going to your obgyn for more answers
A blood test would have been negative 3 days before your missed period but an hpt would ususlly be positive by now. You have to use the first urine of the day when it is good and strong.
# For best results use the pregnancy test no more than 1 day before your missed period # Use morning urine (don't drink a lot of fluids before hand because it can dilute your urine and give you an inaccurate reading) # For simplicity but the brand that reads "pregnant" or "not pregnant" instead of pluses or minuses or a certain number of lines etc. # Remove the cap protecting the thick foam like stick # Urinate on the foam like part of the stick for as long as you can # Wait for the results!
It says that is is accurate 5 days before a missed period. If you take it that early and get a negative, I would retest 5 days later. Sometimes women do not have enough hormone in their urine to trigger a positive 5 days before their period.
There is no reason why you can not do a urine test while you are on your period, but the issue is there should be no reason for you to need to do a urine test if you are having a period. If you are having a period, it is highly unlikely that you would be pregnant.
