The cement that holds the braces to the teeth can be dissolved by acids such as lemons. The actual metal would take more than a lemon to do that though. Nothing that is edible an cause quick dissolving of the metal.

Yes i am pretty sure people with braces can eat chocolate. But you have to be carfull when you brush. I have two friends with braces and they always eat chocolate.Just don't eat the chocolate liketootsie rolls and stuff like that.
