I get the sore throat for a few days then during the night i get the raspy breathing. Not long after i feel the change in breathing i get that barking cough, not from irritation but from thinking i have to clear my airways, but i cant .Sometimes i get a bit paniky but giving that im 35 i havent died yet hahah ...This lasts for a few days..I dont get any temperature and feel fine. ANd yes i get it from my kids who are 10,13, and 16 Croup is a virus that anyone can get. The symptoms are just more severe in children. You probably have had croup as an adult and just thought you had a bad cold.
Yes, a child with croup should stay home from school to prevent the spread of infection and to allow for proper rest and recovery. Croup is often caused by a viral infection, and symptoms like a barking cough, stridor, and difficulty breathing can make it challenging for the child to participate in school activities. Additionally, keeping the child at home can help ensure they receive appropriate care and monitoring. Always consult a healthcare professional for specific guidance based on the child's condition.
