I currently am using Doxycycline to treat my extreme case of scalp Folliculitis, they ran some testing to see what other bacteria's grew from the samples and staph was found. They told me to continue taking my pills and to hit the 100 pills I have hard until they run out. It is like 8 days after the appointment, my scalp acne/folliculitis has receded and disappeared. I am going to finish off the rest of the pills and if it comes back make another appointment. So yes, Doxycycline can help treat minor cases of staph infections. But I recommend going to a doctor first and get put on the correct medicine. Self medicating is not something I would consider doing especially with something as serious as Staph.
yes.
why would you have a staph infection in the neck? What is the cause of this?
No its not suitable to treat staph infections, because it's not strong enough to treat that type of infection. My doctor prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg known as a Tetracycline antibiotic. Always consult your doctor for full treatment options.

Yes, very. Especially the newer "resistant" staph infections. There are some strains of staph that cannot be treated with antibiotics. Staph infections can kill and staph infections that you encounter at hospitals are typically the most difficult to treat.
The correct spelling is "staph infection." "Staph" is shorthand for staphylococcus, a kind of bacteria.
A yeast infection is caused by a fungus, and staph by a bacterium; but a yeast infection of the skin can cause skin compromise that makes it easier for a staph infection to occur.
