It simply can't believe my stumbling upon this site, more specifically to run across a question on this particular topic.

Tomorrow it will be 3 week's since my brother in law collapsed & was rushed to the hospital where he passed-away 3 hours later due to the combination of alcohol & his high blood pressure medication, he was 42 years-old. To make it all the sadder he had finally married his long time girlfriend 2 years-ago & they had just told my husband and myself they had decided they were going to try & have a baby.

I've been a paramedic for over 20 years now & have seen a good number of patients who have had serious reactions to or even died from combining medications which can have serious consequences if combined & it's not as infrequent as you'd think. It's a common mistake to assume medications are safe to take together if the label or the back of the box says "Use Caution Taking This Medication & Do Not Drive or Operate Heavy Equipment Until You Know How The Medication Effects You" & while this can be true in some cases it can be extremely dangerous in others. I'm sure everyone has taken some type of over the counter antihistamine or decongestant & if you read the back of the box a large majority of them will tell you not to take the medication if you take medication for high blood pressure until you've checked with your doctor and he tells you it's ok to take the two at once.

I hope this will help someone avoid the tragedy which our family is trying to cope with on a daily basis by helping you realize there are no innocuous drugs out there even if the box says 100% natural......pot, opium are 100% organic & can be just as dangerous as any synthetic (man made) drug on the marked so watch out if you go to the health food store because these so called natural remedies do not require the DEA to approve them prior to putting them on the market.

God Bless,

Maegi
