Potassium has long been held to be an important nutrient in growing children and bananas have been traditionally regarded as high in potassium, hence the idea that eating bananas may aid breast growth. However the reality is that potassium deficiency in children is rare, because this nutrient is found in such a wide range of foods, including many fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish. In addition, although bananas have a popular reputation as a high-potassium food, some other common foods such as potatoes contain twice as much potassium as bananas.
