steroids
Individuals are given steroid drugs (prednisone, corticosteroids ) that suppress the immune system
Steroid affect every system in the body. For instance, they affect the immune system by decreasing inflammation, the reproductive system by changing the balance of hormones, and the stomach by affecting its lining.
Dogs with weak immune systems that make them susceptible to diseases usually need steroids, which should ONLY be administered by a reputable veterinarian.
Fever occurs in the immune system as part of the body's response to infection or illness. When pathogens invade the body, immune cells release pyrogens, which signal the hypothalamus in the brain to raise the body temperature. This elevated temperature can help inhibit the growth of pathogens and enhance the immune response. Thus, fever is a protective mechanism of the immune system.
Steroids primarily affect the endocrine system, which is responsible for hormone production and regulation in the body. Specifically, anabolic steroids mimic the effects of testosterone, influencing muscle growth and other anabolic processes. They can also impact the immune system and various metabolic pathways, leading to both desired effects and potential adverse reactions.
As far as I know (and I've done extensive research in the field of Autoimmune diseases) it is an almost impossible endeavor to treat them together. An Autoimmune Disease is either treated with steroids or a special immune supressor, either way, the immune is suppressed and is less able to do its job. Unfourtunately, with Tuberculosis, you need your immune system to fight it off along with Antibiotics. Effectively making your immune system useless with an immune supressor or steroids, is going to put your life in danger with Tuberculosis.
It could be thrush, a fungal infection that results from a depressed immune system (which is a side effect of steroids).
antibiotics inhibit the growth of germs as Bacteria ;virus; parasite to help the human body immune system to overcome the infection.
Steroids are used to treat a number of conditions where inflamation plays a key role, They have the ability to reduce and suppress inflamation (anti-inflamatory properties). They can also suppress the immune system!
Steroids can act as hormones or as anti-inflammatory agents. Hormones like testosterone help regulate bodily functions, while anti-inflammatory steroids can reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system's response to certain conditions.
Lingual tonsils, located at the back of the tongue, help to inhibit the entry of pathogens and foreign particles into the respiratory and digestive systems. They are a part of the body's immune system and help to fight off infections in the throat and mouth.
