I am a deaf person I have a Profound to sevear hearing loss Based on current Science and technology there is no cure for hearing loss. there are aids that can help improve hearing and social and academical skills. But unfourtuantly there has been no cure. so yes it is permanent. Hearing aids and Cochlear Implants may help improve hearing but it will never become "compleatly Hearing" ever again.
