I suffer from occasional gout flare ups. I find narcotic pain medicines like hydrocodone/APAP 5/500 are more effective. Tramadol is still effective, just not as effective for relieving the intense pain associated with gout in comparison. I personally feel the same drowsiness side effects from both drugs but Tramadol lacks the euphoric feelings.
